Upon enrollment we ask for information such as the pet’s age and breed which will factor in when determining the cost of your insurance policy.

The above Embrace pet insurance coverage may not be 100% paid for in all circumstances. It is important to learn as much as possible about the conditions or situations your dog is at most risk for before committing to a pet insurance plan.

Embrace offers an accident-only policy for pets over the age of 15 or those that request this option.

What Embrace Pet Insurance Does NOT Cover

Embrace pet insurance plan do not cover pre-existing conditions BUT they only review the last 12 months of medical history. Other pet insurance companies review the last 24 years.

Most of the health-related services Embrace pet insurance company does not cover is typical of others, such as:

• DNA Testing
• Cloning
• Cosmetic Procedures
• Routine Care*

It is important to understand Embrace Pet Insurance WILL NOT cover emergency care for any injuries or illnesses due to the maltreatment of cats or dogs. If it is believed a pet has been abused by the owner or someone the owner knows, all expenses are paid for my the owner. This includes pets suffering the consequences of being made to fight and race.

*While Embrace doesn’t cover routine care, it does have a program called Wellness Rewards. It is not insurance, but a plan that provides reimbursements back on routine care costs for your dog.

About the Wellness Rewards Plan

The Wellness Rewards plan can be added to any pet’s policy. The wellness plan is a preventative care plan. It reimburses routine veterinary care, training, grooming costs and more.

Embrace offers three options for Wellness Rewards:

1. Policyholders can receive up to $250 allowance per policy year, which is a yearly savings of $25.
2. Up to $450 allowance per policy year yields a yearly savings of $24.96.
3. The $650 allowance per policy year leads to a savings of $24.92.

Embrace recommends wellness plan option #3 for puppies since they require many more vet visits for vaccines and wellness checks. Pet parents of adult dogs shouldn’t need more than option #1. Senior pet parents may want to select option #2.

Keep in mind – the savings may seem low, but it’s better than nothing.

Embrace Pet Insurance Discounts

Embrace offers a multi pet discount for multiple pet (two or more cats/dogs) of 10%. The multi-pet discount is automatically applied to pet policies including multiple pets.

They also offer a military discount of 5%. The military discount applies to active and former members of:

• U.S. Air Force
• Army
• Marines
• Navy
• Coast Guard

Unfortunately, the military discount does not apply in NY or TN.

The pet health insurance company does offer a discount to veterinarian clinics or other companies if they offer Embrace as a voluntary employee benefit. This discount is 10% off and is not available to companies/vet clinics in FL, NY, TN, or ND.

Annual Deductible Diminishes Over Time

Embrace pet health insurance rewards its policyholders with $50 off the annual deductible every year a claim payment is not received. For instance, if you do not file a claim for two years, the healthy pet deductible is reduced by $100.
